Overview
Delhi Metro moves millions of people daily, and carrying extra bags, helmets, or prohibited items often becomes a hassle for commuters. To tackle this, DMRC introduced a digital locker system across metro stations, accessible via their Momentum 2.0 mobile app. My role was to design an intuitive, accessible, and seamless booking experience within the app.

The Challenge
The biggest challenge was to simplify the process of finding, booking, and accessing a digital locker inside an already feature-heavy transit app. We needed a clean, frictionless experience that commuters could use on the go, even during the hustle of peak metro hours. It also had to cater to a wide user base, from students to working professionals and occasional travelers.
The Solution
I crafted a user-friendly locker booking feature with a clean interface, clear call-to-actions, and a quick, step-by-step flow. The design was integrated smoothly with the app’s existing services like QR ticketing and card recharge. I focused on accessibility, minimal screens, and ensuring users could book a locker in under a minute, all while ensuring visual consistency with DMRC’s brand.
The Result
The feature saw a 300% surge in usage post-launch and quickly expanded from 50 to 200+ metro stations. Some stations like Shivaji Stadium reported lockers being fully booked multiple times daily. It solved a real, everyday problem for commuters and became one of the most appreciated add-ons to the DMRC app. And for me personally, it’s a project that stands out on my list of achievements.
